The Chk-In Fall Alert system addresses concerns related to personal safety for individuals at risk of falling or managing health conditions that limit independence. Its core appeal lies in offering a cost-effective, DIY alternative to traditional monitoring services, eliminating the need for ongoing subscription fees when paired with a single emergency contact. By leveraging your existing smartphone, the system provides a practical solution for continuous mobile safety monitoring.

Upon detecting an impact indicative of a fall, Chk-In Fall Alert promptly notifies designated emergency contacts via push notification and email, including GPS location details to facilitate rapid assistance.

In situations where immediate help is needed due to discomfort or other emergencies, the device features a “HELP ME” button. Pressing this button triggers an alert pulse, alerting emergency contacts to provide assistance without delay.

Additionally, users with an Apple Watch benefit from automatic extension of the fall detection and alert functionalities to their wearable device. This integration broadens mobility options and enhances safety by incorporating heart rate monitoring through Apple’s HealthKit framework. The system fetches real-time heart rate data and displays it within the Health app, offering comprehensive vital sign monitoring alongside fall alerts.

Optional integration with the Apple Health app allows users to log fall incidents proactively, contributing to their health records and facilitating ongoing medical assessments.
